Abortion is Murder. Period.

What does the Bible say about the Unborn?

When does life begin?

Is an embryo or an unborn child considered human?

What about unplanned children, or threats to the mother’s health?

And what about the horror of rape?

Should there be exceptions to God’s law?

Even before I had a beautiful child of my own I understood that all life is precious.

And now, knowing that God gifted me with such a beautiful daughter, I can’t imagine the pain a mother must go through to even consider something as horrible as abortion.

Whether I can comprehend this pain or not, the Bible is very clear on the subject.

God gives life…

Then the Lord God formed a man. He made him out of the dust of the ground. God breathed the breath of life into him. And the man became a living person.

Genesis 2:7

Think about that for a minute.

God created life from nothingness. God’s power breathed life into existence.

Even Job, who had everything taken from him, recognizes that only God had the power to bless his existence in the first place:

The Spirit of God has made me. The breath of the Mighty One gives me life.

Job 33:4

I think the hardest part of this conversation is the myth that some people have regarding the inception of when “life” begins.

It makes sense to me that a pro-choice individual chooses to believe that life begins at birth.

The reason why that makes sense to me is because I have to assume that any woman who decides to abort a pregnancy must be tricking themselves into believing this lie otherwise they couldn’t go through with it.

Who cares if the heart starts beating at 19 days or 40 days…

God says an unborn child is fully human BEFORE birth just as much as it is after birth.

God knows us even prior to conception. The prophet Jeremiah is proof of that:

Before I formed you in your mother’s body I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart to serve me. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.

Jeremiah 1:5

King David proclaims the same truth:

You created the deepest parts of my being. You put me together inside my mother’s body.

Your eyes saw my body even before it was formed. You planned how many days I would live. You wrote down the number of them in your book before I had lived through even one of them.

Psalm 139:13,16

Some pro-life activists and even Christian’s will “pull at your heart strings” by placing advertisements about what science tells us regarding when life begins.

The most common argument I hear is the “heart beat argument”.

This may deter a pro-choice individual from committing murder (yes, I will call it what it is) if they can hear the precious heart beat of their unborn child, BUT…

Whether a fetus has a heart beat or not, God does NOT divide “life” between the unborn and born.

God view’s the miracle of our conception, at any stage, as equally human.

There is no exception that says we were ‘created in His image’, but unless you have a heartbeat, or unless you physically come out of the mother’s womb, then your life begins!

God’s final act in creation was to create us. We are His greatest accomplishment. He saved the best for last.

So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1:27

God’s people, born or unborn, are a result of His creation and we are all precious to Him.

So, what does God say about those mother’s facing death as a result of their pregnancy?

And, what about rape? Incest?

Or even an unplanned pregnancy?

Do any of these concerns give us the ‘right to choose’ an abortion?

Hell no!

I say ‘Hell no’ for a reason…

As sick as rape is, or even the sadness we go through regarding the possibility of death a woman might face as a result of their pregnancy, there are consequences for abortion.

Before we talk about the grim fact of Hell being real, and how the penalty for murder (sin) is death, let’s look at one of my favorite verses regarding God’s perfect plan for our lives.

God doesn’t make mistakes.

Again…

God doesn’t make mistakes.

Everything happens for a reason. No matter how hard it is for us to understand.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

When a mother chooses an abortion she makes the decision that she knows better than God.

God has a purpose for every child whether they are planned or not.

How dare we think we have the right to decide otherwise!

As I mentioned, the penalty for all sin is death.

If you are feeling uncomfortable with this knowledge, or if you or someone you know has gone through with an abortion, God offers forgiveness.

You might think… Yeah right! Forgiveness for murder?

Think about this… Sin is sin. Lying is sin. Cheating is sin. Theft is sin. Unnatural relations is sin. And… Murder is sin.

The world may treat some of these sins has a higher crime than others, but God does not show partiality and decide which sins are greater than others.

All sins are equal and the punishment for any and all sin is death.

So…

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

…from ALL unrighteousness…! Even abortion, which is murder.

So if God will forgive us of these horrific crimes, then what’s the point of banning abortion in our world today?

True repentance does not mean that we can ask for forgiveness and then continue to go on sinning.

No one has the power to decide whether or not an unborn child has the right to live.

God commands that they shall live and whoever decides otherwise will also die.

Death followed by Hell is one choice for a murderer, but dying to sin through the baptism of the Holy Spirit followed by eternal life is another.

Have a blessed day.
